Glossybox Canada January 2013 Unboxing

Hi loves!

I got my first ever Glossybox (Canada) in the mail today! I was so excited, I might have even 'squeed' a little bit, hah. That polka dot box in my mail box looks so cute!

When I opened the cardboard packaging, I found this adorable baby pink box containing the products. I love this box, it's super pretty & I will definitely be using it to store stuff (probably craft supplies?)

Inside the pretty pink box was the product card letting you know what products are in this month's box (I never read those cards until after, I love a surprise! haha)
I also love that the card also includes how big the full size is & what the cost is, saved a lot of hassle having to look it up.

Wella Professionals Brilliance Leave-In Mousse

I haven't tried this mousse yet, I have fine hair & rarely use mousse. But I do love that it's for colored hair, which will suit me perfectly. This is hands down quite possibly the best smelling product I've ever smelled in my life, it is AH-MAY-ZING!

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme
[full size- 0.2oz $28]
[In box- no size on package, but very tiny sample Value- $1 or 2?]

I was excited to get a Too Faced sample, but a bit disappointed in the size, it is extremely small, I'll probably get maybe 5 uses out of this. It's a clear, plumping gloss that, like the name says, has some serious tingling effects. I'm not entirely sure that it makes a big difference in the plumping department, but it definitely made my lips turn super red.

Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion

I was rather excited to get a Burts Bees product. Until this point I have yet to try any of their products, but am constantly hearing great things about them, and just the day before the box arrived my sister & I were discussing the brand. This moisturizer is great, it has a nice light consistency & absorbed rather quick. It has a light natural scent, & is a great purse size sample.

Nivea Essentials Lip Care

This product I was not overly impressed to see. I constantly see these lip balms at dollar stores. I do love some good lip balm, and this is a great product, but at a $2 value & being so easily accessible I would rather have tried something that I couldn't just pick up anywhere I go. The lip balm itself is great, moisturizing and has little to no scent.

Vitabath Shea Butter Hand Creme

This hand creme is from a brand I've never heard of so I liked that. It has a nice thick. rich consistency. It took a little while to absorb, it would be a great product to use before bed or just getting out of a bath. It says that it is a 'fresh citrus scent' I'm not really getting the citrus from it, but it is definitely fresh with some natural hints.

I haven't tried this wipes yet, but as a professional makeup artist & freelancer these are a great item to keep in my kit for quick clean ups during jobs.

Total box value (estimating the Too Faced sample at $2) = $35.03

Now for the 'cons' of the box. I enjoyed the box & the products, the only thing that bothered me about it is the difference in the products between in each country. Canada almost always gets drugstore brands Revlon, Burt's Bees, Maybelline, etc. While the US gets quite a large amount of high end products, but the boxes in both countries are the same price ($21). I personally would rather be sampling high end than drugstore, especially since the price of the box is the same as those that get to.
